While most patients focus their time and energy toward ongoing
efforts to become pregnant, others incorporate plans for possible future
pregnancies into their fertility plan-ning. Many patients elect to freeze sperm
at Conception Labs in antici-pation of using that sperm in a sub-sequent
treatment cycle, either with future insemination or IVF.
Frozen sperm is
also sometimes used in cases where a back-up sperm source is needed, when a
patient anticipates having a difficult time ejaculating on a particular day of
his partner's treatment, when he may be traveling during his partner’s fertile
window, or when a patient may be undergoing unrelated med-ical treatment in the
near future that may adversely affect his sperm count.
